Troop Meeting at Fire Station at 7, PLC Meeting at Market District 6:30

Troop,

We successfully made it through Polar Bear!  If you did not hear the news, the temperature did indeed drop below 19 degrees.  All scouts who attended Polar Bear will be recognized with a patch at the Spring CoH.

Polar Bear certainly challenged and tested all the scouts and this is the type of camp where confidence and skills grows.  Hat tip to the Pirates and Vipers Patrols along with the Youth Staff who, due to the large size of our troop, had to hike with gear round trip 3/4 of a mile to get to their Adirondacks.    It’s certainly a challenge to hike on a Scout Reservation in the Winter, in darkness, to foreign surroundings where one must spend the night.  They did all of this without incident and they had fun together as well.   I don’t think any other boys in Strongsville were challenged in such a way on a cold Saturday night, and this is one example of why camping creates unforeseen opportunities for personal growth.

Meeting Changes

Tomorrow, Tuesday January 17th, our Troop meeting locations will change due to the school closing.

For scouts in patrols and staff – please meet at the Fire Station on Webster road (formerly next to Albion Middle School)

For scouts in the PLC – please read the email sent from your SPL for important meeting prep instructions.  The PLC will meet at a special time of 6:30 at Market District upstairs.  The steps to go upstairs are near the revolving door in the sit-down dining section.
