Five-Mile Hike – Tuesday, July 10th

The annual Five-Mile hike will be on Tuesday, July 10th. This year, we will be meeting at 6:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Pawpaw Sledding Area, at the corner of W. 130th Street and Valley Parkway, in North Royalton. The hike will start promptly at 6:30 p.m., and will conclude at the Strongsville Dairy Queen on Pearl Road.

In a change from past years, our hiking route will take us west on the Mill Stream Run Reservation Bridle Trail until we reach Pearl Road, where we will turn South, and walk to DQ. We are anticipating an arrival at Dairy Queen at 8:30 p.m.

Scouts should wear their Class B uniform (Troop t-shirt, scout shorts, and scout socks), comfortable footwear, and bring a water bottle, rain jacket (if rain is forecasted), and some money for Dairy Queen. Since the bridle trail may be muddy/wet, please take that into consideration when deciding on your footwear. Parents are welcome to join us on the hike as well.

Completing a five-mile hike is a requirement for the rank of Second Class, so this is a great opportunity for those scouts who still need to complete that requirement. Plus, these miles count towards Boot Club awards!

Please sign up on Troop Web Host if you are planning to attend.

For 40 years, boys have joined Troop 701 of Strongsville, Ohio for one simple reason: "Because they wanted to." Together on the Scouting trail to Eagle they experience adventure, discovery and teamwork.
