Update on Upcoming Activities

Last Thursday, the Cuyahoga County Board of Health extended the county-wide Stay-at-Home Advisory until January 31st. While we were hopeful that the advisory would have been allowed to expire last week, we also knew that an extension was a realistic possibility. Here is how the extension impacts some of our upcoming scheduled activities:

The weekly Troop meetings on January 19th and 26th will be virtual meetings.

The 10-mile hike on January 23rd will proceed as scheduled. We will be meeting and hiking as separate small groups. Please read more details about the hike below, and sign up on TroopWebHost if you are planning to attend.

For the January Celtic-Viking day-camp on January 30th, we are still discussing with our youth and adult leaders about ways to safely run that event, and will let everybody know soon what we decide.

We understand that many of you may be disappointed with the changes to these events. We are disappointed as well! However, please understand that our primary focus continues to be the health and safety of our Scouts and their families. Thank you for remaining patient with us, and for your continued participation in our program. We still have a lot of great opportunities for fellowship and fun experiences during our virtual events, and we are so proud of each and every one of our Scouts for the adjustments they have made, and for the positive energy they continue to bring to all of our activities!

For 40 years, boys have joined Troop 701 of Strongsville, Ohio for one simple reason: "Because they wanted to." Together on the Scouting trail to Eagle they experience adventure, discovery and teamwork.
