Kids Fest and Duck Race – Saturday, June 3rd

Scout and Adult volunteers are needed this Saturday to help at the Strongsville Rotary’s Kids Fest and Duck Race, at the Chalet in the Strongsville Metroparks.  We are looking for volunteers to work 2-hour shifts, starting at 9:00 a.m.  Please sign up on Eventbrite:

The troop will be setting up our rope bridge and an informational station.  The rope bridge is always a big hit with the kids and families in attendance, and scouts are needed to assist the kids across the rope bridge.  Please wear your Class A uniform, and bring a water bottle, along with snacks or a lunch if you will be there around lunch time.

We will also need about four scouts to help with the actual duck race in the afternoon.  These scouts will be traveling in the stream with the ducks, making sure none get held up on the banks, and then helping to collect them once they cross the finish line.  Please dress in clothes that can get wet, and in a pair of footwear that you can wear in the water.  Also bring a towel and a change of clothes.  Please let us know if you are interested.

Finally, we are looking for anyone with a truck or trailer that can help transport the rope bridge from the troop storage unit to the Chalet.  Please let us know if you are able to help us.

There is no parking at the Chalet during the event, so volunteers will need to be dropped off and picked up at the entrance to the Chalet.  For those needing to park a car when they come to help, you can park at the RTA Park and Ride off of Pearl Road by the entrance to the Turnpike.  There will be shuttle service available to take you to and from the Chalet.
