Summer Camp Merit Badge Selections

If you did not fill out your merit badge selections for Summer Camp at last week’s troop meeting, please try to get them turned in sometime over the next couple of weeks. It is important that we have your merit badge selections by April 9th, as the registration system opens shortly thereafter, and the class spots fill up fast. Here is this year’s merit badge schedule:

2020 Merit Badge Schedule

You can email (troop701bsa@gmail.com) a list of the merit badges you would like to take (for example: Camping at 9:00 AM, Lifesaving at 10:30 AM, Environmental Science at 2:00 PM), or print out the sheet, circle the badges you would like to take, and email in a picture/scan.

Please aim to select merit badges that will provide you with good skills, along with offering up a bit of a challenge. It is also a good idea to focus on those badges that are more geared towards the outdoors, as it is much more difficult to earn those outside of Summer Camp. There are a lot of great merit badges to choose from (including Eagle required badges!), and we have a guide with some suggestions and additional helpful information:

Merit Badge Guidelines

First-time Summer Campers do not need to fill out a sign-up sheet, as they will automatically be enrolled into Mammal Study, Nature, and Swimming merit badges. However, they are still encouraged to view the schedule, and read the merit badge guidelines document.

If you have any questions about what would work best for you, please reach out to an adult leader or older scout.
