Rotary Club Duck Race & Kids Fest

URGENT – Help needed for the Duck Race – less than 3 weeks!

Setup Friday, August 20, from 6:30-8pm
Event on Saturday, August 21, from 11am-3pm

We need our older Scouts who are experienced with knots to help on Friday with the setup of the Rope Bridge.

On Saturday, the Troop will have a significant presence at the event, helping with parking at the start of the event (older Scouts and adults only), helping young children safely cross the rope bridge, and helping with the BSA climbing wall, as well as following the ducks down the Rocky River during the race itself. We need lots of hands to make this event a success and to help our community learn about the Scouting program.

Signups on TroopWebHost are a little different from typical camping signups. From the home menu, please go to “MyStuff>MyScouts>Shift Sign-up.” from the calendar page, you need to look for the “Sign Up for Shifts” button.

Please remember to keep selling the ducks for the race. For $10 a duck, or $20 for a “flock” of 3 ducks, or $50 for a “raft” of 10 ducks, you get chances to win up to $2500. Even better, the Rotary Club has generously offered to return 50% of each Scout’s sales directly to his Scout Account. This means that with five sales of a single duck, or one sale of a “raft” of ducks, your Scout will have one monthly camp paid for! The best way to sell is to direct your family and friends to the following website:

Boy Scout Troop 701 Duck Sales

If you prefer to sell in-person, you can use the attached order form and flier. Online sales will be available until shortly before the event, but paper sales need to be turned in to Laura by Tuesday, August 10, with a single check made payable to “Scouts BSA Troop 701.”

Thanks for helping with this event!
