June Camp at Kelleys Island – June 9-11

For June Camp the Troop will be heading to Kelleys Island! The cost for camp is $45 per person, and we are asking everyone to please sign up on TroopWebHost as soon as you can, as it will help us provide the correct number to the campground. Parents who are planning to attend should also sign up on TroopWebHost, or indicate in the notes section of your son’s signup that you are joining us for the weekend.

We will be meeting at Chapman Elementary School on Friday evening at 6:00 PM. We are anticipating a return to Chapman around Noon on Sunday the 11th, but will tweet out an update that morning. If parents are available to help with driving to or from camp, please sign up on either the Friday or Sunday driving options on TroopWebHost.

Like last month, this will be a tent camp. Parents who are joining us for the weekend will need to bring their own tent. Please don’t forget to bring a ground tarp and ground pad with you to camp, as well as to pack clothing appropriate for the weather. There will be an opportunity to go swimming in the lake, so if you would like to do so, please bring a swimsuit and towel. Sunscreen is a must as well! We are also looking for some sand shovels for some of our activities (please put your name on it). Also, for those scouts/adults who would like to fish this weekend, please bring the necessary gear (rod and tackle, etc.). Anyone 16 years or older will need a fishing license to fish (you can purchase them at Walmart). Lastly, Scouts may want to bring some spending money with them for things like mini golf and ice cream. Here are some other gear reminders:

-A ground tarp and pad-Any specific patrol gear/clothing (patrol t-shirt, hats, bandannas, etc.)-A headlamp or flashlight-Rain gear-Sunscreen and Bug Spray-Some garbage bags for any wet/muddy clothing or gear-Your white or green advancement book (in a ziploc bag)-A filled water bottle-Patrol Leaders should bring their patrol flag-Enthusiasm for a great camp!

If you have any questions about camp, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know. Thanks for your participation!
