Troop 701 Fill The Truck

Please join us for our “Fill the Truck” event on May 14th!

Please view and download our flyer here.

Boy Scout Troop 701 will partner with Easter Seals Northern Ohio to raise money for the Troop and help local children and adults with disabilities.

WHO: We need YOU! Clear clutter and do something GOOD!
WHAT: An Easter Seals truck will be parked at the Staples Plaza to accept donations of clothing, blankets, towels, shoes, purses, stuffed animals, cloth lunchboxes and backpacks, etc. Even stained items can be recycled into something! All donations are tax deductible. Our goal is to collect over 1,500 large bags of cloth and raise $3,500 to support our Troop. NEW THIS YEAR: They will also pay us 5 cents/pound for all other miscellaneous items. This includes books, kitchen wares (dishes, silverware, pots/pans, etc.), tools, toys, movies, sporting goods, etc. The general rule is that they will take anything that ONE PERSON can carry. Please note that we do not take any items that can hold babies or children (i.e. strollers, car seats, pack-n-plays, etc.). Those are not allowed to be resold by law. Please refer to the “DO NOT ACCEPT” list to answer questions.

ALL CLOTH ITEMS MUST BE BAGGED SEPARATELY FROM THE MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS.

Troop 701 receives $0.20 per pound of clothing, shoes and linens donated. Half of the proceeds earned from this fundraiser will go directly to payment for the summer camp chartered bus. The Troop will contribute $0.10 per pound of clothing, shoes and linens and $0.02 per pound of miscellaneous items donated by your family and friends to your individual scout account. The portion retained by the troop will be used to pay for the chartered summer camp bus. This is a great way to help pay for camp and do spring cleaning!

If you have any questions please see Shawna Serna or Glenda Yee.
