We are hiking 10 miles on SUNDAY November 20th, in downtown Cleveland, the heart of Northeast Ohio. The crew is meeting at Chapman Elementary at 8:30 a.m. Please be prompt! Parents are encouraged to drive downtown and are welcome to join the market adventure and hike. If you are not driving from Strongsville or are driving separately, please meet us near the West Side Market at the corner of Lorain and W. 25th St. between 9:20 and 9:30 a.m.
Our route will begin at the West Side Market in Ohio City, cross bridges over the Cuyahoga River, go past the city’s great landmarks, and wander around sights and sounds we don’t usually experience in the ‘burbs. We may even get to see some Christmas decorations and displays. After the hike, be sure to complete your hike report.
Even though this is an urban hike on paved “trails,” you will still need to carry a full daypack with two quarts of water, snacks, a trail lunch, rain gear, spare socks, and other essentials. The weather forecast for Sunday predicts temperatures in the upper 30’s with a chance of snow showers, so please wear/pack a warm hat and gloves, and dress for the weather.

If you’re really adventurous, you could even pick up pig’s feet or a cow’s tongue. (Or maybe not…)
We are planning to arrive back at Chapman at 4:00, but will Tweet out an updated time if we are running behind.
