Although we will know more in the coming weeks about our ability to travel, Troop 701 is still planning to attend summer camp at Heritage Scout Reservation from July 12-18.
Heritage delayed the payment deadline, but we now need payments in full ($425) by all of our families (except members of the TIPS patrol – see below). If we do not receive your payment by April 7, we will not be able to register you with the Early Bird discount and will not be able to secure your merit badge selections. After the Early Bird deadline, the cost of the week of camp increases by $25, and merit badge options may be limited, but we would try to register you if we can.
THANK YOU to all of our families who have completed their summer camp payments. If you still owe a partial payment or the full payment for camp, you may make a deposit into your son’s Scout Account using PayPal on TroopWebHost. Since payments by check are not an option now, the troop will cover the cost of your PayPal fees ($13 for a full summer camp payment) until April 7. You may check the status of your summer camp payments in TroopWebHost by going to the menu and selecting MyStuff->MyScouts->Account Detail and looking at the Summer Camp subaccount.
If camp needs to be cancelled for public health reasons, we hope that Heritage will waive the 10% processing fee, but it is possible that each of our Scouts will be charged this penalty. We hope we won’t be in that position, but we want you to know that we will make a decision on camp before June 12, so this would be the maximum penalty we could potentially incur.
For TIPS families, Heritage recognizes that a summer camp payment in full immediately after crossing over can be a challenge. For first year Scouts only, the Early Bird discount is honored throughout the registration period. However, merit badge selection can only be completed for registered Scouts. For TIP Scouts only, a non-refundable $50 deposit, payable through PayPal, will reserve your Scout’s place at summer camp, with the remainder of $375 due by June 10.
