The Troop Introduction Program (TIP) is a course developed by Troop 701 to help new scouts learn about and adjust to the Scouts BSA program. There are a number of major differences between Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA that take time adapting to, and are easier to address in a group setting. The program focuses on introducing basic troop information and rank advancement. It is also meant to develop teamwork skills and the idea of leading versus following. The TIP begins when a scout crosses-over in February, and culminates at the end of our premier scouting event of the year, Summer Camp! You can find the TIP Schedule for 2020 here:
The sessions are taught by our Troop Guide crew, which is comprised of older scouts who have held various youth leadership positions during their time in the troop. If you have any questions, please see one of our Troop Guides, or contact Assistant Scoutmaster Leslie Moder.
