We will be having a regular Troop meeting this week at Strongsville High School, so please wear your Class A uniform (if you are working on your Tenderfoot fitness requirement, please wear your Class B uniform), and don’t forget to bring a mask. If you took home any troop gear from September Camp (tent, dining fly, cook kit, or dutch oven), please return it cleaned and dry at the beginning of this week’s meeting. It is best for the gear to be returned at the start of the meeting, so we have time during the meeting to look it over. If you have gear to return, but aren’t able to attend this week’s meeting, please try to make arrangements with another scout to return your gear for you. Thank you for your cooperation!
It’s still a few weeks away, but our next camp is Backpack Camp, scheduled for October 16-17. Please sign up on TroopWebHost if you are planning to attend. We will meet at Camp Butler in Peninsula, OH on Saturday morning, backpack during the day, and camp at Camp Manatoc Saturday night. We will then hike back to Camp Butler on Sunday morning. We will be sharing more details about camp over the next few weeks, and will be holding instructional sessions at our upcoming troop meetings on backpacking gear and food. We will also have backpacks that scouts can try on and borrow if they need one. Backpacking Camp is a really great experience, and one that anyone can do, even if you have never backpacked before. We are here to help you prepare and have the best backpacking trip you can, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
